REVIEW & RELEASE: The Trouble With Before by Portia Moore
Our history made things harder. We were associates out of convenience. We tolerated each other. I never saw her that way. She never saw me that way. She and I were never meant to be friends. You’re not supposed to fall for your best friend’s enemy, even if the enemy is YOUR ex-best friend. This isn’t the story of falling in love with your best friend.
It’s about falling out of hate.
REVIEW
I have adored the If I Break series since book one, it is still the best twist I have ever read. This can be read as a standalone but I think you need to read them all anyway because they are SO good!
I disliked Lisa, she abandoned her child and left to live her own life and all the feelings came flooding back when her story starts in here. I didn't hate her, but I knew it would take a lot to redeem her. Fortunately, Aiden is everything you need to keep you happy in this story.
To say he is perfect, is an understatement. I love the way he's written, the way he can't commit to anyone and the way he's compared to Captain America (that bit got me excited in my pants - see below teaser). He will be the reason you begin to like Lisa again, his dedication to her and how he defends her, along with what she goes through in the book will make your open your heart just a little for her.
I think some people won't forgive Lisa for what she did, but nobody can come away from this book saying they don't adore Aiden!!
I loved this book, the same way I've loved every book Portia writes. I love her style and the characters she creates. She is great at writing strong women, Gwen and Lauren more so than Lisa, but Lisa does have her strong moments.
Definitely grab this book and bag yourself a new book boyfriend!!
