REVIEW: Cleat Chaser by Celia Aaron and Sloane Howell

Kyrie Kent hates baseball.

She hates players even more.

When her best friend drags her to a Ravens game, she spends the innings reading a book…

Until she gets a glimpse of the closer—a pitcher who draws her like magnet. Fighting her attraction to Easton Holliday is easy. All she has to do is keep her distance, avoid the ballpark, and keep her head down. At least, all that would have worked, but Easton doesn’t intend to let Kyrie walk so easily.

When another player vies for Kyrie’s attention, Easton will swing for the fences.

I’m not sure where to start with this review. I’m very aware that this could be a massive bumming sesh and I don’t think either of the authors, Sloane in particular, needs another ego boost from me, so I’m going to try and keep it cool….

This book…..was the fracking shizniz. It was fan-fudging-tastic. It was super-duper funny, like I think I’d even go as far to say that it was funnier than Pucked. Hell, it may even be the funniest book I’ve ever read. And how do I know that? Because of the amount of strange looks I got from my family when I sporadically burst out laughing. I am good at wearing a neutral face when reading, but you can’t not laugh at the crazy humour! And the sex, oh my god, the SEX!! It’s so damn hot, I challenge anyone to read it and not get turned on. I dares ya! It’s perfection!

I knew this book would be great; Celia writes sex exactly how you’d expect a tumblr porn addict with a penis fascination to (if not better!), and Sloane’s humour, perhaps might be that of an 18 year old boy, but it’s hilarious! I was blown away by how much it exceeded my expectations. I was practically giddy just waiting for the chance to pick the book up again!

Even though I knew who wrote which parts, the story still flowed as though there was only one author, the characters were so consistent, you could tell there was either a lot of careful planning and teamwork or they are just the perfect writing duo, if you’ve seen the banter on Facebook you’ll already be aware of how well they play off each other!

All the characters are fantastic. Easton and his buddy Braden are hilarious together, the jokes they make will have you laughing out loud, then you get to Easton’s lesbian sister Kasey…she’s epic. The mouth on that girl, she’s dirty, outrageous and incredible entertainment value. If you had someone in your life like Kasey I doubt you’d ever have a dull day ever again!

Kyrie and her best friend Nikki are a riot. Nikki is the reason Kyrie meets Easton as Nikki is seeing Braden. She is the perfect best friend, she’s so loyal to Kyrie and even though she’s a massive cleat chaser, she’s always looking out for her bestie and making sure there’s always some girl-on-girl teasing going on!

I loved that Kyrie and Easton had such a great instant chemistry, it was incredibly hot. Every girl wants to be looked at the way Easton looks at Kyrie. I’m pretty every girl also wants to be rogered the way Easton rogers Kyrie! :-D I could go on for hours about how much I loved it. I’ve made a fair few teasers and I’ve not even scratched the surface of the best bits!

I cannot urge you enough to pick up this book, if you’re having a bad day it will definitely pick you up and make you laugh, if you’re being badgered for sex but you’re not in the mood it will definitely change that. :D
